The 2015 EU Sustainable Energy Week Conference of Tirana will be held 15 June 2015 by Albanian Centre for Energy Regulation and Conservation - ACERC. The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), an initiative of the European Commission, first took place in 2006. Today, it is coordinated by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME), in close cooperation with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy. During the 2015 it see the takes place in framework of the 15 contemporary activities along the Sustainable Energy Week organised across Europe on the entire month of June 2015.
Indeed the climate change knows no borders. With the 2020 and 2030 targets, there is a European vision that has been decided upon along with the Member States for an efficient, low, carbon, competitive energy system. To achieve that vision, energy stakeholders, public authorities and the European citizens need to work together and share best practice to better promote secure, clean and efficient energy solutions and give them a European dimension.
The EU Sustainable Energy Week of Tirana is ACERC leading effort to promote secure, clean and efficient energy and will help amplify the sustainable energy choices. Renewable energy sources have to eventually replace fossil fuels, and Europe’s energy consumption needs to embrace smarter and more efficient choices to reach Europe’s new energy targets. EUSEW 2015 will focus on energy sustainability towards 2030.
Sustainable Energy Days are the key events of the EU Sustainable Energy Week to reach the local, regional and national level throughout Europe. Sustainable Energy Days aim to involve consumers, businesses and decisions-makers in numerous activities related to the production or use of secure, clean and efficient energy. They are the preferred communication tool to spread the message of energy sustainability at the local and regional level. They are public events, demonstrating to a wide audience that sustainable energy technologies and patterns of behaviour are viable, cost effective and better for the environment.
The EU Sustainable Energy Week Conference of Tirana foresee the participation of the energy experts, policy-makers, representatives of the civil society and the media that will see the hold of several policy paper on topics related to secure, clean and efficient energy. All the Albanian Energy stakeholders are invited to contribute and their proposals will be evaluated by a Commission. More information on the Albanian Energy Days will follow shortly.
